Services available

Taking a group of students abroad means accepting extra administrative responsibilities, but you're not in it alone! The staffs in the Study Abroad Center (SAC) and in the international office in your college are eager to offer guidance.

We provide for all faculty- and staff-led programs:

Project Assist

If you would like assistance that extends beyond mere advice, consider Project Assist .

Project Assist is a partnership between the SAC and faculty to develop more opportunities for ISU students to study abroad. SAC will remove some of the burden associated with program development and coordination by:

  • Developing a budget.
  • Developing flyers, brochures, posters, and Web-based materials to promote the program on-campus and nationwide.
  • Providing information on medical and/or travelers insurance.
  • Establishing accounts for initial site visits and program director grants.
  • Arranging fee collection and the payment of service providers.

Faculty members retain control of the course content and associated field trips. Further, they will continue to be heavily involved in promoting the program in class and to their colleagues.

Programs that take advantage of Project Assist will be assessed a $75/student participant fee.

For complete information on developing and executing a group program, please consult the Program Director Handbook (under revision, contact 294-6792 or email studyabroad@iastate.edu).
